Wow another new year all ready, well I passed my MA so now I'm a master in Historical Research.... well okay I have a second degree but I'm working on mastering medieval history. I'm working full time at Lancaster University at the moment since apparently no-one wants me for a PhD so we're on to plan B which involves working for a year or two, clearing all those student debts and then doing a one year PGCE in Primary School teaching, plan B.2 involves several years of teaching, doing another MA and then being allowed to do a PhD, I will get the title of Doctor at some point.

Alex and I are still discussing weddings etc, so its probably going to be a couple of years until we have the ceremony but we don't really mind. So thats how things stand at the moment, well bar the fact I'm still soaking wet from getting to work this morning, the weather today is shite.

Well I finished my Masters dissertation in September, so its all in now an I'm just waiting to find out my grades which will probably sometime in November. I get to graduate in December and add another set of letters after my name which is always fun. Starting too look at PhD's and it looks like we'll be moving, most likely towards Durham, although it depends on funding of course.

Went on holiday with Alex after handing the dissertation in, and he Proposed, so we're now engaged, its wonderful and scary at the same time. We're not going to get married until after I've finished my PhD with moving, new house, and another degree, a wedding will have to wait.

Well the 5th October is always a crappy day for me, so I think I'm going to go and hide again.

Well its been a couple of quite months, working on my MA dissertation (okay not as much as I should have been doing) and working in attempt to clear some of my debt. Things have been working out well, so now expecting the something wrong part... First is I'm currently looking at Phd's which may mean moving from Lancaster, (I can hear the cry of 'I don't want to move again!' from fool in the background. I don't particularly want to move again but I'll have to go where's best for me and offers funding.

So have spent the last 24hours in Durham looking at the University and the town. I like it and so did Fool, except for the part about maybe moving! Oh well York is on the list as is Lancaster, but with the leaving of many of the Medieval & Early Modern historians, I'm running out of options.

Oh well something will work itself out and we'll go where's best. Meanwhile I've my dissertation to finish researching and writing.

Well its been awhile.

Hmm - still doing the MA, have a part time job as well so kind of surving (if only I could get rid of the blasted overdraft, I'd be even better). Also have moved house a fortnight ago and really loving it. It's nice and it has a spare room which I can use as a study. 

Off to France for a week soon and Alex is coming with me so very very happy. Then back to the mill stone with the disertation and Medieval Latin gramar!

On a side note I saw the Foo Fighters in concert in Hdye Park recently, they rocked and Queen came on Stage at the end with them. It was my first concert with both my sisters as well so we had a whale of a time. Will have to do again soon.

Life is going well, the Ma course is great and hopefuly after today I'll have a part time job to go with it. Just have to wait and see which is cool

Of to vist friends this wekend and have my first thanksgiving, which should be cool.
